Physical Therapist

What inspired you to pursue a career in physical therapy?

Growing up playing sports, I have been on the patient side of physical therapy. The ability to heal through exercise and proper movement was inspiring to me. I wanted to be able to be a resource to inspire and educate others of this possibility.

What is your philosophy or approach towards physical therapy and rehabilitation?

I believe that movement is medicine. Being able to apply pain free movement into your daily life is crucial for longevity and health span. Many patients are aware of this but lack proper resources and self-management strategies.

In your opinion, what is the key to a successful patient-therapist relationship?

The key to a successful patient-therapist relationship is being able to build an immediate rapport starting with the initial evaluation and proper communication regarding what success looks like. This allows the patient and the therapist to establish trust along with building an individualized treatment program.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work to maintain your own physical and mental well-being?

I love to be active. I enjoy activities such as weightlifting, tennis, pickleball, and playing in a hockey league with friends.

How do you see the field of physical therapy evolving, and what excites you about the future?

Direct access has been an evolving area of physical therapy. This allows patients to work with a licensed physical therapist without physician referral. This allows physical therapists to have more freedom within their practice and function as true health care providers.
