Sarah Hess, DPT

Physical Therapist

Please provide a brief overview of your education.

I attended Slippery Rock University through the accelerated 3+3 Exercise Science and Doctor of Physical Therapy program. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and then continued directly into graduate school, graduating with my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in May 2026.

What brought you to Wonsettler?

I first learned about Wonsettler Physical Therapy in 2020 while completing a project assignment during my undergraduate studies. As I learned more about the practice, I was impressed by its commitment to individualized patient care and strong presence in the community. From that point on, I knew it was a place I hoped to be a part of, and I am grateful to now have the opportunity to serve patients alongside such a dedicated team.

What do you find most rewarding about working at WPT?

I love the patient-centered approach and the supportive team environment at WPT. The emphasis on individualized care allows me to spend quality time with patients and develop treatment plans tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals, making it even more rewarding to help them achieve success.

Favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of the job is meeting new people every day and helping them achieve goals that are meaningful to them. Whether someone is returning to a sport, recovering from surgery, or simply trying to move with less pain, it is rewarding to be part of their journey.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through running and fitness, spending quality time with family and friends, and traveling.

What advice would you give to someone considering PT as a solution to their health concerns?

Physical therapy can be an excellent option for individuals looking to improve movement, reduce pain, and enhance their overall quality of life. My advice would be to keep an open mind, communicate your goals with your therapist, and stay consistent with the treatment plan. Small steps and steady effort can lead to meaningful progress over time.
